Two new characters will be introduced in the second season of Netflix's sci-fi period drama "Stranger Things."

Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Sadie Sink from "American Odyssey" and Dacre Montgomery from the upcoming "Power Rangers" movie were tapped to portray the roles of Max and Billy, respectively, in the second installment of Matt and Ross Duffer's hit web series.

Sink's character, Max, is a type of girl who is tough and confident. She reportedly has a complex background. She tends to be suspicious of everything around her.

On the other hand, Montgomery's Billy is described as the oversensitive and hyper-confident older brother of Max. He will be known as the type of guy who can steal girls away from their current boyfriends and who excels in drinking games. Although, despite his charms, Billy possesses an unpredictable and violent persona.

Max and Billy are just two of the three new characters who will join the original roster of "Stranger Things" in its upcoming season.

In early September, executive producer Shawn Levy told The Hollywood Reporter about the new cast additions.

"There's definitely a handful of really compelling new characters this season, but absolutely servicing the core group first and foremost," the executive producer said. He also mentioned that the new characters will represent people from different age groups. "Like the show itself, it's multigenerational new characters and really, really intriguing ones," he added.

The third new character, Roman, is yet to be cast.

Meanwhile, young actor Noah Schnapp turned to Instagram to address the bullying that his character, Will Byers, received from some of the viewers because of the speculations about his sexuality.

According to Schnapp, fans of the series should not stereotype his character into a specific sexual orientation. "Does being sensitive, or a loner, or a teenager who likes photography, or a girl with red hair and big glasses, make you gay? I'm only 12 but I do know we all relate to being different," the young actor stated.
