A trio of new faces is heading to "Stranger Things"

Three more characters are officially on board the Netflix breakout hit, according to That Hashtag Show. The first character is Mayor Larry Kline, a politician who will do everything he can to get what he wants. A male actor who is in his 40s–60s is expected to fill the role.

The second character is Bruce, a news reporter in his 50s. He is described as an overweight and sexist man. Lastly, the studio is looking for an actress to play Patricia Brown. She is a charming neighborhood elder in her 70s. She spends most of her time giving advice to her neighbor's kids and gardening.

As CBR points out, it's too early to tell how the three newcomers will fit into the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. Season 3 will probably pick up with the town still recovering from yet another attack from the Upside Down. The previous installment wrapped up in an ominous note, however, with the monstrous creature targeting the rural town. It looks like the Hawkins kids have to fight a much bigger threat once the series returns with new episodes.

One of the show's executive recently confirmed that original star Charlie Heaton will continue working on the show despite being refused entry to the country for cocaine possession. The actor got involved in a cocaine bust at LAX airport in October, leading fans to wonder if he would be back to play the socially awkward Jonathan Byers for season 3.

"Charlie is returning," costume designer Kim Wilcox said in an interview. "Charlie actually is one of my favourites of all the actors and I think he's a very sensitive soul. I think he's a good man and I think he's made some great decisions in his life and maybe this was just a time where something slipped."

"Stranger Things" season 3 is expected to premiere later this year on Netflix.
