The first episode for season 2 of Netflix's hit sci-fi thriller series "Stranger Things" may have just aired, but details on the third installment had already been making rounds.

"Madmax," the season 2's opener, was just released on Oct. 27, after months of waiting. Just as the season had opened, fans could not help but speculate on the show's third season after information about the duration of the entire "Stranger Things" series was disclosed by the show's writers, Matt and Ross Duffer, in an interview with Deadline.

"[I]t's not like a typical show in that it wasn't really built to sustain like 10 seasons," Matt explained.

Ross also revealed that the team was starting for the third season, now that the production for "Stranger Things" season 2 had just wrapped up, though Netflix had yet to confirm nor deny the renewal for the next season. In an interview with the Vulture in August, the two confirmed that the third installment of the 80s-themed series had been given a go.

One of the siblings even divulged that they were hoping to end the series after the fourth and added that it would be hard to sustain and justify the mishaps the kids on the show have to go through every year. It would also be fitting, considering that the main characters remain as young children, but the cast members have been maturing and will continue to do so. Aside from this, the Duffer brothers divulged of a possible optimistic end for the gang's nightmares: to leave the town.

Besides, there were many loopholes to discuss on the show, which might need extra air time. One prediction about "Stranger Things" season 3 is that it will jump to the 90s, as opposed to the 80s nostalgia fans expect for the past two seasons. Hopefully, there will also be other characters like Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Kali (Linnea Berthelsen), who possess special abilities.
