Capcom has confirmed that a new update later this month will add the new Story Mode for its fighting game "Street Fighter 5." Now, it seems that the publisher is planning to further expand its roster for the game.

According to Gamespot, in a recent interview, senior product manager Matt Dahlgren and associate producer Peter Rosas hinted that more content, including new characters, may be coming out soon for "Street Fighter 5."

Dahlgren hinted that the new Story Mode is just one of the things that Capcom is planning on bringing to the game, and that introducing new characters is another plan already in the works.

The executive stated, "We will continue to produce characters. We have a lot of concepts we are discussing in terms of large updates that we have in mind. I can't give specifics as to exactly what those plans are."

However, although fans can already expect that new characters will appear in the game, Capcom is reportedly focusing first on the upcoming Story Mode for "Street Fighter 5."

Dahlgren continued, "Our top priority right now is addressing the single-player content and the June update is going to be the most robust update we've had yet."

The upcoming June update unlocks the much-awaited Story Mode for the game, giving more hours of content for "Street Fighter 5." The game already has a number of DLC packs rolled out that added new characters to the roster.

Meanwhile, Rosas agreed that the current highlight of the game is the new gameplay, more than an introduction of new characters.

The producer added, "There's characters that are missing from that chapter, such as Ken, Laura, and others. They haven't fought their fights yet, so in later chapters they will be doing a lot more fighting."

"Street Fighter 5" is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PC.
