Video game developer Capcom has recently announced that one of its premiere fighting game titles, "Street Fighter V Arcade Edition," will be made available to players ahead of schedule for those who already have the base version, "Street Fighter V." Originally, Capcom intended that the game be released on Jan. 19 this month, but this is not the case anymore, and players will get to play the game sooner than they thought.

The official announcement was posted on Capcom's official Twitter page in the U.K., stating that those who already own "Street Fighter V" will be able to download and play the game for as early as Jan. 16. The download will work as a large update, which will eventually integrate the new features of the Arcade Edition into the players' system. Luckily for Steam users, they will still be able to download the game regardless of whether they have the base game or not.

It is important to mention that the early release of "Street Fighter V Arcade Edition" will only be made available for those who download it digitally -- free of charge, as long as they already have the base game. If players would rather have a physical copy, then they would have to line up in video game stores on the original date of release, which is on Jan. 19.

Although most players would be happy to just play the classic fighting game, some would opt to own a physical copy either as a collectible, or to sell later on. "Street Fighter V Arcade Edition" will have all of the downloadable content from the older version of the game, as well as some new features suited for beginners and grizzled veterans.

A rumor that started out on Reddit stated that a person bought the base game, but instead got a physical copy of the arcade edition. The player then leaked the pictures on the Reddit website, showing off the new features that the Arcade Edition has. One of the notable add-ons is the option for player 2 to decide on whether he or she wants a rematch, or to go back to the character select screen.
