Fans who simply cannot wait for the release of "Street Fighter V" will have something new to look forward to, although it may not exactly be what they were expecting.

A new live-action series is set to debut in March of this year, and it will serve as the prologue to "Street Fighter V," Destructoid reported.

The new live-action series, which will be known as "Street Fighter: Resurrection," will feature some of the characters also showing up in the game. The new series is also expected to give fans the same heavy dose of action, although viewers will, of course, not have the benefit of actually controlling what the characters do on screen.

With the live-action series expected to arrive in March and "Street Fighter V" set to come out in February, it remains to be seen if fans playing the game will also be interested in a show that should actually reveal more details about what they are currently playing.

One character who may not be showing up in either "Street Fighter V" or "Street Fighter: Resurrection" is Sagat.

In an interview with Japanese gaming blog Hachima and as reported on by NDTV, "Street Fighter V" executive producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that Sagat is currently not expected to be part of the game.

According to Ono, Sagat was not included in the game, mainly because of the moveset he had that was somewhat similar to other characters inside "Street Fighter V."

Sagat has been one of the staples of the "Street Fighter" franchise, so his exclusion is not exactly being embraced by fans.

Interestingly enough, Ono did hint that more characters could still be added to "Street Fighter V" in the future, and that could mean that Sagat may end up as part of the game's roster after all.
