Students to join BBC worship broadcast

Students at Cardiff University will be leading a service of worship on national radio this weekend.

BBC Radio 4's Sunday Worship will be broadcast live from Eglwys Dewi Sant in the heart of the city.

The service is being organised by the chaplaincy of Cardiff University. Anglican chaplain, the Rev Dr Trystan Owain Hughes, will be preaching, while Methodist chaplain, the Rev Delyth Liddell, will conduct the service.

Music will be provided by the University of Cardiff's Chamber Choir, while students will lead the readings and prayers.

The service is part of Sunday Worship's Lent series.

Dr Hughes said, β€œIt is a great honour and privilege to be preaching on BBC Radio 4 and I am delighted that the students of Cardiff University are getting the opportunity to take part on national radio.

"With the service going out live, and with around 1.8 million listeners, we are all a bit nervous, but very excited.”

The service begins at 8.10am.
