It is still almost a year to go before the highly-talked about anti-hero film "Suicide Squad" hits theaters worldwide, but the movie has already gained a lot of publicity, mostly from rumor mills.

Recently, one speculation got the Internet buzzing as it says that Jared Leto's The Joker could be Batman's sidekick Robin. This theory was first explained in Decider.com. 

According to the theory, a lot of physical evidences are pointing to the possibility that the new interpretation of The Joker is not the original Clown Prince of Darkness. Instead, he is Jason Todd, the second Robin in the comics who replaced Dick Grayson when the latter became too old to become a teenage sidekick. 

Based on the popular DC series, Jason Todd was captured and tortured by the original Joker before he was murdered. But recent Batman releases, such as the current "Arkham Knight" video game, turns him into a vengeful lunatic who challenges his former mentor. 

The theory claims that the scars seen on the popular photo of Joker for "Suicide Squad" are located exactly where the holes are in the wrecked Robin costume seen in the trailer of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Leto's character also has a winged tattoo on an arm, and it could possibly be the wing of a robin. 

Leto's chilling line toward the end of the trailer where he said, "Oh, I'm not gonna kill 'ya. I'm just gonna hurt you really, really bad," may also prove that he wants to make others feel the pain that he possibly endured in the past. 

Meanwhile, DC writer Paul Dini, the one responsible for writing the character Harley Quinn in the comic book series, talked about his opinion regarding Margot Robbie's film interpretation of the character in "Suicide Squad." 

"I think Margot [Robbie] is very nice, she's a very wonderful actress, certainly very attractive and very talented. I'm very excited to see that interpretation of Harley," Dini shared in a recent episode of Shanlian On Batman podcast.

He also said that he is very excited to see Leto and Robbie on screen as the superhero version of rockers Sid and Nancy.

"If you put them in that realistic world," the writer said, "I feel they would look like down-and-out rockers, they would look dangerous."
