'Suicide Squad' spoilers, release date news: Surprise cameo revealed

Ezra Miller as the FlashWarner Bros. Pictures

"Suicide Squad" will be released this week, and The Hollywood Reporter reveals that a last-minute cameo has been added to the movie and is hinted at in the film's final list of credits. As stated in the report, the cameo involves Ezra Miller reprising his role as Barry Allen aka the Flash.

The report states that it is not clear when the scene was filmed but the mere fact that it has been included in the movie and that Miller's name appears early in the credits means he is going to appear in the beginning of the movie and not in a mid-credits or post-credits scene.

Fans speculate he is in only for a single scene, showing how Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) was defeated, arrested and brought to Arkham Asylum.

Speaking to Comic Book, Courtney explained that he did not learn about Miller's inclusion until later on, indicating that he and Miller filmed their scenes separately and these scenes will be put together via post-production editing.

"I didn't know Ezra Miller was in the movie until I saw the movie. It's funny because I look back on it and I think '[expletive] moron, of course that's what's happening.' But even shooting that scene it didn't occur to me. That was a little gem they were keeping," the actor explained in the interview.

This is not the first time audiences will get to see Miller's version of The Flash in action. He did have two short cameos in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and was also seen in the recently released teaser trailer for "Justice League."

"Suicide Squad" will also feature Ben Affleck's Batman, along with stars such as Jared Leto, Will Smith and Margot Robbie as the Joker, Deadshot and Harley Quinn, respectively. The film opens in theaters this Aug. 5.
