'Suicide Squad' movie cast, spoilers: to feature Batman in a shadowy role?

According to sources cited by Latino-Review, Batman (Ben Affleck) will be making an appearance in the upcoming David Ayer film "Suicide Squad," but he will be playing more of a shadowy figure or "boogeyman" instead of being the front-and-center focus.

According to Latino-Review's sources, the government really hates Batman. Government Agent Amanda Waller, rumored to be played by Viola Davis, wants to capture Bruce Wayne's alter ego and she then turns to the country's hardened criminals and psychopaths to get him.

The only problem is no one has really met him except for The Joker (Jared Leto).

In an Instagram post, journalist Umberto Gonzalez a.k.a. El Mayimbe revealed, "They have footage of Batman in action which they watch. There is a bit of dialogue where they say Batman is the key to tracking down all 'the supers.'"

Using criminals like The Joker, Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) just to capture Batman must mean that the government wants him for very specific reasons. In the post, it is suggested that the reason is to use his knowledge and expertise to find the other superheroes, which presumably includes the likes of Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Superman (Henry Cavill), and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot).

The suggested plot will require actors physically capable of dealing with the Caped Crusader.

Courtney told Variety, "I've been training for three months in different martial arts. As you can imagine for that superhero world, the athletic expectations are rather high."

Leto also told Billboard during an interview that he was intentionally gaining weight for his role as The Joker.

"Suicide Squad" is expected to hit theaters in Aug. 2016. This will be five months after the release of Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which will also include Batman and may feature characters that will make an appearance in "Suicide Squad," such as Lex Luthor and Amanda Waller.
