'Suits' season 5 spoilers: Anita Gibbs targets Mike's colleagues
Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty) will have to be very careful in the next episodes of the hit USA Network series "Suits," as Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope) is reportedly gunning for her. The hotshot attorney wants to pin Mike Ross' (Patrick J. Adams) colleagues as accomplices to the fraud case he is currently facing.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Aaron Korsh shared that Gibbs would be targeting the employees in Pearson Specter Litt, starting with the lower positions until she works her way to the ultimate price of all, Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). The prosecutor firmly believes that the firm is in cahoots with Mike for faking his credentials. First, she will make sure that Mike gets what he deserves and then she will go after the rest.
"We've seen that Anita Gibbs is not to be trifled with and that she'll do certain things to win. ... She starts with Donna and then goes up the ranks after people to get them to turn on each other. That's going to happen through the end of the season, and next week is the next step in that," he said.
Meanwhile, the wedding will certainly be postponed for Mike and Rachel (Meghan Markle), considering the predicament he is in the series. They think that the timing is not right to get married and it will be their attitude over the course of the trial. This does not mean, however, that the wedding is off. TV Guide reports that the topic will be brought up sooner or later in season 5B.
Unfortunately, it does not look like Mike will ever return to practicing law again. Korsh revealed that Adams' character would never be the same again, even if he does manage to win the case. Being involved with fraud has destroyed his reputation, which means Mike would have a tough time "operating in the legal world" when things goes back to normal.
"Suits" season 5 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on USA Network.
