The fourth season of "Suits" ended with a shocking cliffhanger, which means that the next installment of the series will follow through on the exciting events that happened during the season 4 finale.

In the final episode of "Suits" season 4, Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) admitted to Donna Paulsen (Sarah Lafferty) that he loves her. He saved her from being placed behind bars because of felony fraud by going against Terrence Wolf (Chi McBride). However, Donna decided to leave her post as Harvey's secretary to work for Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman).

The chain of events that happened during the season 4 finale will undoubtedly have a big implication in season 5. "Suits" executive producer Aaron Korsh talked about its effect during a recent interview with TV Line

"We definitely deal with the ramifications of her leaving on everyone. This is such a tight-knit group that something like this is going to affect the entire firm as we know it in the form of our six [characters] ... Harvey is going to go through a full range of both emotions and actions regarding this thing," Korsh stated.

The executive producer said that Donna might also be in a very tough position next season, especially if the time comes when Harvey and Louis will have to battle head-to-head over a case.

"Donna's going to be forced to choose — probably more than once — between Harvey and Louis again. Harvey might come to her and say, 'I need your help,' when he's battling with Louis over something, and she's going to have to decide who she's loyal to," he said.

Meanwhile, the executive producer shared with The Hollywood Reporter that Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) will return next season, probably for Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) and Rachel Zane's (Meghan Markle) wedding.

"We got lucky enough to get Wendell Pierce for a little arc on the show and that is going to impact Mike and Rachel's kind of life with him. He's going to be involved in a case with Pearson Spector Litt," Korsh said.

"Suits" season 5 is likely to premiere in the middle of 2015.
