"Suits" has added a new male character for its highly anticipated season 7.

On Tuesday, USA announced that "Psych" alum Dulé Hill will be joining the cast of the legal drama. Hill has been tapped for a season-long arc as Alex Williams, one of Harvey Specter's (Gabriel Macht) long-time friends. Alex works as a senior partner at Bratton Gould, a rival firm of Pearson Specter Litt, where he keeps an enviable lineup of clients.

Hill's appearance on "Suits" marks a homecoming of sorts for him at the network. He played the role of Gus in the USA comedy "Pysch," which ran for eight seasons and ended in 2014. The actor's most notable TV credits include "Doubt," "Ballers," and "The West Wing." Hill also appeared in feature films such as "She's All That," "Men of Honor," and "The Guardian."

Season 7 picks up with Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) officially regarded as a lawyer after accepting Harvey's offer to return to the firm. With the original members of the Pearson Specter Litt team reunited, everyone must learn to adjust with the new setup without Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres).

Fans are well aware that Mike's journey to being a "real" lawyer was not a walk in the park. He served time in jail when he was arrested for fraud after his secret was revealed. His fraud case became the talk of the town for quite a while, but his new title as a legitimate attorney will not make his secret go away.

"It doesn't mean that he is free forever from the knowledge of his secret, or free from anybody bringing it up,"executive producer Aaron Korsh told TV Line in March. "He is still going to have to deal with those questions. But what he doesn't have to deal with is the worry that he's going to lose his freedom. . . . But it is legitimate to wonder: Are people that he goes up against going to bring this up to try to throw doubt on a jury or a judge about his honesty or intentions in a given case?"

The seventh season of "Suits" premieres on Wednesday, July 12, at 9 p.m. EDT on USA Network.
