"Summon Night 6: Lost Borders" is going to be released in the West by the first quarter of 2017. Gaijinworks, the same studio that ported "Summon Night 5" to the PSP a few years back, made the announcement on their official website. The game will be released for both the PS4 and the PS VIta.

According to the official site, the publishers will also work on some of the voice acting to ensure there are English voices for the key scenes in the game. This may include English voice acting for the cutscenes as well as some of the usual grunts, spell casting and other voices during combat.

This English version will release in Europe, North America and South America. There will be a physical version available at retail stores and a digital version available at the Playstation Store. Gaijinworks reported that there will also be a deluxe special edition that will be available from the Gaijinworks website.

Details about this deluxe version will be posted after this year's E3. Like other deluxe and special editions of other video games it is expected to come with rare collectibles and special DLC content.

As stated in a report from Gematsu, the game's three main characters, Raj, Amu and Ist, come from the "cocoon world" known as Fillujah. They each live their lives independently, accompanied only by a special flying sidekick, when the sky opens and several people are randomly dropped into their world.

It turns out that these are characters from previous "Summon Night" titles. The game is a stand-alone title, allowing newcomers to enjoy the game even without having played the older titles in the franchise, but veterans of the series will get more fan service as they will recognize who these other characters are and what worlds they come from.

Although no specific release date has been announced, a Q1 release window does mean it will be released between January to March 2017.
