The Nintendo Switch title "Super Mario Odyssey" will be receving a free major patch update to grant players with "Luigi's Balloon World," which will contain two brand-new online mini-game modes to enjoy with their friends. The update is akin to a downloadable content patch, which is expected to arrive sometime in February -- and will also include brand-new costumes for the playable characters in the game.

In the launch trailer, the two game modes are revealed to be titled "Hide It, and Find It." Players will have to approach Luigi, who is decorated with numerous balloons. Then, the players will have to decide if they would rather find or hide the balloons in the wacky world of "Super Mario Odyssey." Since the mini-game is meant to be competitive, there will be leaderboards in order for players to keep score.

Being successful in either game mode will grant players with bonus in-game gold coins.

Since the game is an online game, players who choose the Hide It mode will be tasked to find difficult-to-reach hiding spots to conceal their balloons from others, or even make it almost impossible for them to figure out how to reach. The Find It mode is a little bit more challenging, since it will specifically test a player's knowledge and mastery of the mini-game's stages. Players will have a limited time to hide and find balloons in each instance of the mini-game.

Included in the free patch update are three new costumes, featuring the Sunshine Shades attire, the Musician Hat with corresponding outfit, and a Knight and Helmet with full body armor. It was not revealed if the new costumes will be accessible right out of the gate, or if players will have to complete specific objectives in order to use them.

Additionally, new filters will be added for the Snapshot mode, so that players can creatively document their adventures in "Super Mario Odyssey."

The update will arrive on the Nintendo Switch sometime in February.
