Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U characters: American boy to Nintendo's first lovable characters

The only better news Nintendo fans will ever receive following the recent release of the Super Smash Bros 4 is probably the impending release of the Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U.

It has only been weeks since the fighting game was made available to play in the Nintendo 3DS but Banda Namco Games will again have its ever-loyal gamers gung ho for the new title loaded with new playable characters and brand-new game mechanics and features.

Many familiar combatants will return while new fighters will puff up the already impressive roster. The most anticipated should be the return of psychic Pokemon Mewtwo. Gamers have seen the last of the legendary Pokemon before "Brawl" and it is high time for this fighter to come back. Mewtwo is rather an expensive content as only those who own both versions of the game will see its homecoming by spring 2015.

In the Official Smash Bros website, the roster of all 38 competitors was laid out. The big number is not inclusive of the "secret characters" yet.

Of course, there's Mario—not at all a shocker. A game without the gallant plumber is not to be called Super Smash Bros. The endearing giant ape Donkey Kong would not miss another Super Smash Bros title, would he? The same goes for fan favorites Luigi, Sega's Blue Blur Super Sonic, Mega Man (with a lot of cheers on the side when he showed up in the trailer), international Pokemon Pikachu, Link the Hylian, and highnesses Princess Peach and Princess Zelda.

The roster continues on with Samus and blonde bounty hunter Zero Suit Samus, angelic warrior Pit, an even friendlier dinosaur Yoshi, pink and puffy Kirby and its evil penguin nemesis Captain Dedede, and goddess Palutena. Users can also play as Fox McCloud, Captain Falcon, Bowser, Sheik, Marth, Meta Knight, Ike, Charizard, Diddy Kong, Pikmin & Olimar, Lucario, Toon Link, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina and Luma, Little Mac, Greninja, Robin, Lucina, Shulk, Mii Fighters and Pac-man.

If that's not merry enough, wait till the secret characters shake up the diverse universe.

Ness is the main playable protagonist in the Super NES game "Earthbound". The gutsiest little boy in Eagleland is the only character to cross from his universe and into the Super Smash Bros world. Together with his baseball bat, players can pull off Ness's magical home run.

Other than Fox McCloud, another "Star Fox" character returns. Cocky pilot Falco takes flight in the new title and is now unlocked to help players beat opponents with his destructive lethal jump.

The most popular plumber's rival should not be left out. Wario was last seen in "Super Mario Bros Brawl" and it is just so cool to have another from the Mario universe running around pushing equally endearing opponents off the stage. Speaking of which, Dr. Mario did not forget to tag along. He would not work hard to get his medical doctorate for nothing.

Pit's sinister counterpart also adds to the roster. With moveset parallel to his wholesome alter ego, it is interesting to see the two forces against each other. Zelda's arch-rival Ganondorf will also join the bunch bringing his cunning witchcraft to the stage. The lovable, super-'80s machine is one to love. However, present to be a nuisance is King Koopa's redheaded mini version Bowser Jr. Mr. Game & Watch is the last of the rather gargantuan gang. There's no better way to revamp the attest title with one of the earliest Nintendo offerings.
