As NFC champions Seattle Seahawks tackle the conquerors of the AFC, the New England Patriots, for the championship, the Super Bowl 49 (Super Bowl XLIX) half time show will be taken care of by pop sensation Katy Perry.

Thousands of viewers are not only filling the bleachers to witness the enthralling football action. This pack of hyped fans will also get to see the stunning songstress belt out some tunes and throw in some dance moves in her outrageously vibrant and gaudy costumes during the big game's intermission. Attempting to predict what awaits the horde of Super Bowl spectators seems like a challenge and media outlets blame it all on the "Firework" singer's lovably eccentric personality.

Katy Perry will share her 12 minutes of stage exposure with above-board rock and roll legend Lenny Kravitz. The 50-year-old multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter will accompany the chart-topping pop star to pull off a performance that is sure to be spectacular and memorable. Fans are set to be treated with a show that is a fuse of Madonna, Beyonce and Diana Ross.

According to Extra TV, rapper and songwriter Missy Elliot will also put in an appearance. The site claims that Katy Perry has hinted the participation of the "old school" female singer during a press conference and she was quoted by Extra TV telling Associate Press "When you hear the first ring of the chord, I think jaws will drop and faces will melt." Apart from the rather vague clue, the singer has kept details about her performance or even song selections at a minimum. Meanwhile, "Let It Go" singer Idina Menzel will be in charge of the Super Bowl National Anthem.

The Super Bowl half time show has slowly become one of the most anticipated staples of the massive and festive event. Over the years, it transformed into the biggest display of America's immense love for pop culture. Rock hero Prince's performance in 2007 and pop deity Beyonce's show in 2013 were considered to be the best performances to ever be staged at the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl XLIX will get the action going by 6:30pm ET. Watch it all happening at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale straight from NBC. Fans can watch it via live stream on NBC Sports Live Extra while Verizon customers can check it out on NFL Mobile. Viewers in England can tune in to Channel 4, Sky Sports and BBC radio 5 Live. Those who live in Russia can switch to NTV+ while Mexico sports fans can watch the event on Televisa, FOX Sports, TV Azteca and ESPN. Italy can turn to FOX Sports 2 HD and Italia 1 HD, Germany on SAT:1, Australia on Seven Network, 7mate and ESPN and Canada on CTV and RDS.
