'Super Mario,' 'Assassin's Creed,' and 'Fire Emblem' among October's biggest video game releases

October will be a busy one for gamers, as there are many great titles that will be launching this month, including big names like "Assassin's Creed," "Super Mario," and "Fire Emblem."

The first week of October will get a fast start with the new "Forza Motorsport 7" debuting on Oct. 3. The game features stunning graphics and fast-paced excitement.

The cute manga-inspired puzzle game "Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy" will also debut during this week on Oct. 6, along with "Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions." Both games will be released for the Nintendo 3DS.

On Oct. 10, the much anticipated installment of the "Middle Earth" series will be released. "Middle-earth: Shadow of War" will drop gamers deep into the heart of J.R.R. Tolkien's fantastical world, where the conflict against the Orcs and the Dark Lord Sauron becomes more dreadful as ever.

The survival video game "The Evil Within 2" will be released on Oct. 13. This game will take players through an alternate dimensions filled with darkness, mystery, and horror.

Up next is another racing game, "Gran Turismo Sport" which will be arriving on Oct. 17. This will be the very first "Gran Turismo" title to hit the PlayStation 4. To be released on the same day is "South Park: The Fractured but Whole," which brings a superhero theme to its popular brand of comedy and social commentary.

"Fire Emblem Warriors" will be launched on Oct. 20. This title will allow players to take control of the most popular characters from previous "Fire Emblem" titles and take part in intense hack-and-slash fights against hordes of enemies.

The month will close in an epic manner, with three big titles to be released on Oct. 27. "Assassin's Creed: Origins" will take players to the marvelous but dangerous ancient Egypt, where the history of the Assassins will be unveiled.

"Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus," on the other hand, will take gamers to the alternate universe of Nazi-controlled America where they can participate in action-packed Nazi-hunting missions.

Finally, Nintendo Switch will launch what might be the biggest game of the month, "Super Mario Odyssey." Here, players will get to travel the world with Mario, while enjoying the game's colorful and ever-creative gameplay.
