A new update has been released for "Super Mario Maker," and it has fans wondering what it could mean for the game.

The update itself is a curious one, mainly because there aren't really many details about it available.

All that Nintendo has officially said about the update is that it requires about 223 MB of internal storage and that it brings adjustments to the game that should help players enjoy it even further.

It's currently available for download in both Europe and North America, according to Nintendo Life.

On the surface, it doesn't appear that the new update offers much of anything new to the game, but as it turns out, it may actually be revealing more about the future of "Super Mario Maker" than it may have originally intended.

With the new update now live, numerous gamers have begun digging deeper into it and they have discovered quite a few interesting things that may end up being part of the future of "Super Mario Maker."

According to Destructoid, the data hunters have spotted things such as Professor E. Gadd, Baby Mario, the Angry Sun from "Super Mario Bros. 3," Baby Mario, and even the Windows logo among other presumed to be future elements of "Super Mario Maker."

Nintendo has provided no official outline of their downloadable content (DLC) plans for "Super Mario Maker," although the things the gamers have found here are decent bets to be part of the game sooner rather than later.

In the past, Nintendo has also had DLC content for their other games such as "Super Smash Bros." spoiled by players diving deep into the title's data, and in those cases, the things they found buried did indeed become elements of the game later on.

Whether or not that ends up being the case here is uncertain, although it's a fair bet some new DLC will be released for "Super Mario Maker" sooner rather than later, and by then, people will know if these digs did yield accurate information yet again.
