'Super Mario Maker' adds Princess Daisy costume

Nintendo

The princess of Sarasaland is finally coming to "Super Mario Maker."

Nintendo announced via Twitter that Princess Daisy will now be included on the list of costumes featured in the side-scrolling platform game creation system beginning Jan. 15.

Princess Daisy comes as the second new Mystery Mushroom costume that Nintendo released this week. The first one is a new character named Yamamura, which can be unlocked after the player clears the "Cooooo! (Feat. Yamamura)" Event Course. Daisy, on the other hand, can be unlocked in the game after clearing the "Adventure in Sarasaland" Event Course.

Fans of the "Super Mario" franchise have been waiting for Princess Daisy's presence in "Super Mario Maker" since its release back in September. The character was even rumored to be coming in the game in November 2015 based on a report from Outfoxie, but the game studio debunked the claims immediately. However, fans of the Sarasaland royalty brought up her name again on forums in late December to ask Nintendo to bring the character in the customizable game maker video game.

Just like all the other Mystery Mushroom costumes, Princess Daisy can give Mario the opportunity to dress like the other Nintendo characters like several Pokémon characters, Link and Zelda from "The Legend of Zelda," as well as other traditional "Super Mario" characters like Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, Goomba, Toad, and Yoshi, among others.

More improvements have been introduced by Nintendo since "Super Mario Maker" came out in the market, including the addition of conditional power-ups, mid-level checkpoints, as well as event courses all throughout the game.

Meanwhile, Nintendo recently broke the news that "Super Mario Maker" already sold more than 1 million units in the U.S. This makes the game the sixth Wii U exclusive game that managed to achieve the recognition since the gaming platform was released in 2012.
