A glitch in the new game "Super Mario Odyssey" allows players to break the jump-rope mini game.

The jump-rope challenge is among the most dreaded in the video game, but now players have found a way to beat not just the mini game, but also its leader board.

Set in a city square in the early stages of the "Super Mario Odyssey" Metro Kingdom called New Donk City, two women are swinging a jump rope. The players' goal as Mario is to jump over the rope 100 times straight in order to bring forth a Power Moon. Polygon says this task takes more than skill to pull off, even with a guide to do so.

Needless to say, it is a challenge that many players found annoying and frustrating, making them look for other possible shortcuts and cheats. Twitter user FourScore64 actually did, and even shared the trick to anyone who wants to get up on the leader board without all the hassle and bad feelings.

What the player has to do is trigger the glitch in a bit of a complicated series of steps, although very effective. The first step is to throw Cappy above Talkatoo the bird, engage it in a conversation just before the hat hits it, then run over to the sidewalk on the west side of the park. Leap into the jump rope area and press R and ZR simultaneously.

If you have the patience, FourScore64 says he should hit 99,999 jumps in 15 hours.

The tutorial is so effective, the "Super Mario Odyssey" leader board now shows its top 10 jump-ropers each with the score of 99,999.

Nintendo has yet to comment on the glitch and how it plans to fix it.
