Good news for fans of the much-awaited "Super Mario Odyssey," the game will be available for trial a week before its release.

Nintendo has announced that the game will be available for trial in various Best Buy locations on Saturday, Oct. 21. It will be out for a very limited time — from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. local time — so interested fans should head out early if they don't want to miss it.

Fans who decide to try it out will receive a little gift from Nintendo — a free "Super Mario Odyssey" sticker book. Check out the list of participating Best Buy stores here.

For those who don't have the time or are too far away from these stores, a new review from Japanese publication might help you decide if the game is worth the bucks.

The Japanese video-gaming magazine Famitsu has released its verdict: a whopping 39/40. It is not perfect, but it is the highest rating in the issue. This makes "Super Mario Odyssey" one of the 45 games that have received the rare almost perfect score from Famitsu. The perfect grade is, of course, more elusive, with only 25 recipients since 1986.

Meanwhile, respected U.K. magazine Edge was the first to give the upcoming game a 10/10, awarding it one of the less than 20 perfect scores it has given in its 24-year history. Edge is known in the industry for giving the lowest scores across the board, but "Super Mario Odyssey" was among the few exceptions.

"Odyssey is a new entry in a long-running series that belies its age with sprightly invention... taking big risks with an established formula and having them all pay off handsomely," the review said.

The Edge magazine review particularly praised the various Cappy transformations, the boss fights and the soundtrack.

The Nintendo Switch exclusive "Super Mario Odyssey" will be available for the masses on Friday, Oct. 27.
