The "Super Smash Bros." 3DS National U.S. Tournament will be held a day after the launch of the game.

The tournament will be held on Oct. 4, a day after the game is scheduled to be released. 15 GameStop stores in the United States as well as Nintendo World Store in New York will host the tournaments featuring three rounds of four-player battles.  The winner of the tournament will get a "champion's robe" and a trophy that costs $900.

64 players are allowed to join the tournament from each location, and the selection is in "first come, first serve" basis. Thus, players who want to join the battle need to be at the venue early. Nintendo 3DS and 2DS consoles and the copy of the game will be on hand for the players.

The champion in each location will win a trip to New York City, topped with airfare and board and lodging for two. Moreover, the winners will receive 3DS XL, a copy of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, and a $250 Visa Gift card. This is for the Super Smash Bros. National Open Tournament, which will be held at the Nintendo World Store on Oct. 11. The tournament will be broadcast live on Nintendo's Twitch and YouTube channels at 6 p.m ET.

Meanwhile, gamers who are itching to get their hands on the new "Super Smash Bros." will have the chance to do so starting Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. ET as part of the special fan event to be held at the Nintendo World Store in NYC. A demo of the game will be available in eShop at 100 GameStop stores in the US.

The "Super Smash Bros." version for Wii U will head to the console this holiday. However, Nintendo has not announced the official release date of the version yet. There is no word yet whether the same tournament will be held for Wii U gamers.
