'Super Smash Bros 4' character list: Latest Japan commercial disappoints fans

"Super Smash Bros" gaming fans have been anticipating the release of the game, and they're tuning in to every detail and leaked news about the newest installment of the game from Nintendo. However, when the commercial for "Super Smash Bros 4" was released in Japan, fans of the game were outraged.

Previous reports about the game did say that there will be new characters introduced in the game, including the customizable Mii characters. This is what was exactly shown in the commercial.

The commercial showed Super Mario and the usual faces on one side and the Mii fighters on the other. The Mii fighters were customized to the faces of Japanese pop band AKB 48. This is where the confusion started.

Fans of the game thought that AKB48 were actual game characters, and they believed it was a lame addition. But the fact is, the commercial only intended to show that players can customize the Mii fighters into whoever they want and AKB48 was just an example.

Many commented negatively on the commercial. One said "I hate AKB48, so I'm not buying this," while another said, "Who's the idiot that came up with this idea?"

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that Nintendo fans have been outraged about Nintendo game commercials. When Nintendo teamed up with Mercedes Benz to feature the cars in "Mario Kart 8," fans thought that the partnership would ruin the game. It's advertising and they think that it's using their favorite game in a bad way.

Nevertheless, the commercial for "Super Smash Bros. 4" is intended to promote the 8-hour live stream for the game on Sept. 12, Friday. The live stream will showcase the final version of "Super Smash Bros. 4" 3DS version, to be released on Oct. 3. As for the Wii U Version, Nintendo is still fine-tuning it and will be out for release on the holidays.
