After a recent leak, Nintendo has confirmed during its Super Smash Bros. Direct that Ryu from the "Street Fighter" franchise and Roy from "Fire Emblem" are now available as DLC characters for "Super Smash Bros." on the Wii-U and 3DS. 

Both characters are currently available for purchase. Roy is being sold simultaneously with Lucas from "Mother 3" and costs $4 if he is bought only for one system but $5 if he is bought for both the Wii-U and the 3DS. Ryu and his "Street Fighter II" stage Suzaku Castle are being sold together for $6 for the Wii-U or 3DS, and $7 if bought for both. 

Roy will play like regular "Super Smash Bros." characters, but Ryu will handle very differently. According to a report from IGN, Ryu will perform special moves when players use his regular "Street Fighter" button presses, allowing him to perform his spinning kicks, Hadoken, and more. His Focus attacks from "Street Fighter IV" make a return here and he is also the first character in the series to have two final smash attacks.

According to a report from Gamespot, both Roy and Ryu will get their own amiibo toys very soon. The report also cites that the game will feature the Dreamland stage from the original "Smash Bros." title on the Nintendo 64 and that this stage will be available by August. There will also be a new feature on the Wii-U version that will allow players to post replay videos directly to YouTube. 

The report does state that due to the popularity of the characters, the Nintendo server might experience some strain, which would explain why some players are getting kicked out of the Nintendo E-shop while trying to download Roy or Ryu. The site suggests for players to try again when the servers are not "as busy." 

Roy and Ryu are the second batch of DLC characters for "Super Smash Bros." for the Wii-U and 3DS, following the release of Lucas and Mewtwo earlier this year.
