While "Supergirl" season 2 is not expected to resume airing its latest episodes earlier than next week, as it is currently on its spring break, the TV series' current season is already slated to take a bow next month. However, this early, fans can already expect that Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) will figure out who her real enemies are by the time the series airs its season finale episode. Whoever those enemies are, and no matter how powerful they may be, the Girl of Steel will not be alone in battling them out.

"Supergirl" season 2 may have ushered back some of its villains from its previous season, but it has also introduced a few new ones. However, as the Girl of Steel vanquishes or eradicates them, more often than not, after a single episode, the opportunity for them to be explored in a bigger story arc is lost.

However, as "Supergirl" season 2 tapers toward its end, it is becoming clearer as to who the series' major villain is, Teri Hatcher's Rhea, the Queen of Daxam. While Rhea is on her way back to Daxam as featured in "Supergirl" season 2 episode 17 (titled "Distant Sun"), it is expected that she will return to Earth and take vengeance on Supergirl for practically stealing her son Mon-El (Chris Wood) away from her. As Rhea almost killed Supergirl in the "Distant Sun" episode, it goes without saying that she is a force to reckon with and will put Supergirl's life in jeopardy once more upon her return.

It is not only Rhea who Supergirl needs to worry about, though. With the imminent return of Project Cadmus, Supergirl's Kryptonian might and power may not be enough for her to survive the odds. Nonetheless, it is said that she will not be alone in battling it out with her enemies as, apart from Mon-El, it has already been announced that Tyler Hoechlin will return to reprise his Clark Kent/Superman role to help his character's cousin in the events of its season 2 finale.

Before the season finale, though, fans of "Supergirl" can catch its latest season 2 episode, episode 18, on Monday evening, April 24, titled "Ace Reporter," over The CW at 8/7 C.
