Melissa Benoist is really glad about the big move of "Supergirl" to The CW for season 2 this fall.

Speaking with ET during the premiere of "Lowriders" at the Los Angeles Film Festival, the actress who plays the titular role said that she believes that the move from CBS will be beneficial to the sophomore season of the superhero sci-fi series because The CW houses some of the TV adaptations of popular DC Comics characters like "Arrow," "The Flash," and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow."

"What I'm most excited about is we get to kind of linger a little more on certain storylines from the comic books that maybe we didn't get to do last season," the actress stated in the interview, as reported by Yahoo. "Spread out storylines, which I'm really excited about."

It was a logical move indeed to bring "Supergirl" to the new network, since the show exists in the same universe as the network's other superhero series. This means that the highly anticipated four-way crossover between the four series that The CW chief Mark Pedowitz previously announced will definitely happen soon.

"Arrow" lead star Stephen Amell also talked about the upcoming crossover during a press panel at the Wizard World in Philadelphia, as reported by Comic Book Movie. But he confessed that he still has no idea how the writers will come up with a plan to bring Supergirl into the mix.

"How we're going to end up doing that...I don't know. But um, this is really um, this is kind of an unprecedented moment in terms of the history of network television, Amell said. He also speculated about how Oliver Queen/Green Arrow will encounter Kara Zor-El in the crossover episodes. "To have four shows, same showrunner. Um, obviously Supergirl is in a little bit of a different universe, but we can fix that. That's one line of dialogue and it's all fixed. So I would suspect Oliver will be meeting Supergirl at some point."

"Supergirl" season 2 will take over the Monday night slot on The CW beginning this fall.
