"Supergirl's" famous cousin, Clark Kent's debonair alter ego, will be included in the upcoming CW series, but only in a mentor role.

DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Jhons revealed that fans would not get to see the famous superhero and his red cape on screen. Entertainment Weekly reports that Superman will play a part in Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) evolution but only as an advisor of some kind, as the latter will be arriving two decades after he came into the city.

"He will be a factor in her life, but you won't see him exactly on screen. He's going to be more in the background. But he does play a part in her evolution into a superhero," he said.

While the Man of Steel will not be seen in the series, the producer assured fans that other DC characters will be joining "Supergirl" in her fight against evil forces. During the Television Critics Association Panel, Jhons announced that Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum), Red Tornado, and Kryptonian super villain Non will be introduced during the first nine episodes of the series. Lucy's father, General Sam Lane, is also slated to appear.

Meanwhile, Chris Browning is the newest addition to the cast of the CW superhero series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Sons of Anarchy" star will play the role of the villainous character Reactron, also known as Ben Krull. Krull is one of Superman's biggest enemies. In the series, he will once again head to the National City and to take down the man in the red cape by killing his cousin.

Other cast members include David Harewood, Mehcad Brooks and Chyler Leigh. They will join Peter Facinelli who will play the role of Maxwell Lord, "a green tech billionaire" who is fascinated with Melissa Benoist's character, and Calista Flockhart who will be Cat Grant, Kara's boss.

"Supergirl" premieres Oct. 26 at 8:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
