Almost all the current series on CBS have been renewed, except for "Supergirl." But talks about a possible season 2 for the superhero drama continue.

According to reports, "Supergirl" season 2 could possibly get the green light from the network, after CBS CEO Les Moonves told the audience during a conference call with Deutsche Bank that he is arranging for the renewal of all the network's new shows.

"We have about five new shows on this year," Moonves said, as reported by Deadline. "Of those five, I believe all five of them will be renewed, and we own four of them."

He also revealed that there will be fewer pilots coming up for the 2016 season, which means that most of the current ones will be retained.

Executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti are also very hopeful that "Supergirl" will come back for season 2, especially since they plan to bring actress Lynda Carter to the show next season.

"We had the perfect role for Lynda Carter," Berlanti said, according to the report of Entertainment Weekly. "We couldn't work out her schedule. Next year."

Kreisberg interrupted his co-producer's statement, saying that they will push through with Carter's casting next year. Berlanti then decided to announce what the "Wonder Woman" star will play in "Supergirl" next season. "All right, she's the female president of the United States," he said.

Carter will be the third actor who used to be part of the DC Universe to land a role in the superhero series, as actor Dean Cain, who played Superman in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," and Helen Slater, who portrayed the titular role in the 1984 "Supergirl" movie, have also appeared on the show.

The network is expected to announce the renewal of "Supergirl" for season 2 in the coming days.
