'Supergirl' TV series release date rumors: Second episode filming after pilot episode leaked

The "Supergirl" series was originally set to debut this coming October but as everyone knows by now, leaked copies of the pilot episode already came out as early as June.

So with the cat out of the bag, the pilot episode drew divided reactions. Some were impressed while others believed that the producers could do better.

But just any series, pilot episodes will always be critical but not necessarily the one to dictate how the series will go. And so the pressure is now passed onto the second episode, which will already start filming this week.

It remains to be seen what showrunners Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Ali Adler will come up with, although word has it that the rest of the season will focus on a super villain in Reaction and Lucy Lane (to be known as Superwoman).

And with a new episode comes a new poster, which seems okay if you are not the type to criticize certain artwork done through photo editing software. In all, lead star Melissa Benoist looks gorgeous and stunning as she did in the pilot episode leak.

The pilot episode saw the revelation of Kara Zor-El who was forced to use her powers to save her sister Alexa Danvers (Chyler Leigh) from an impending plane crash. As it turns out, her sister was actually looking out for her and was against Kara's intent to use her power to fight evil.

The twist of having James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) adds a romantic twist of sorts to Kara. Apparently Olsen is a medium between Kara and Superman, a messenger, if you will.

Well much of this may pretty well be understood by the ones who already saw the pilot episode, despite that split reactions it has received.

"Supergirl" will officially be shown via CBS on Oct. 26, 2015, 8:30 p.m. EST. From there, succeeding episodes will be shown at 8 p.m. EST every Mondays.
