Actor Jensen Ackles has a lot to say about the tramautic-sounding finale of "Supernatural" season 10. The last page of another mayhem-filled, monster-tastic chapter in the crazy lives of the Winchester hunters is about to be turned but its conclusion is something fans won't see coming.

"Everybody's expecting Sam to save the day, but I would say that, in true Supernatural fashion, we give them what they want in a way that they're not going to expect it," Ackles told People. 

The actor went on to say that "somewhere down the line," his character Dean will "probably" be Mark of Cain-free, adding that Sam (Jared Padelecki) would stop at nothing just to get a hold of the cure that will get the curse out of his brother. Fans know that very well and, somehow, this causes them to worry about the younger Winchester's life.

For one, Ackles revealed that Sam will convince himself that he needs nobody's help, causing caring friends to help him "behind his back." This, he said, will only lead to trouble, and a "pretty scary" one at that. It seems that although Dean is the one who's poisoned of the Mark of Cain, Sam is the one damaged on the inside. At this point, death is the only thing that separates adamant Sam from the long-elusive cure.

In a separate interview with Variety, Ackles revealed that the brothers are going through an "internal" battle that even the biggest guns can't end. 

There are an awful lot reasons to worry about Sam's fate, but there is comfort in Ackles' words about Dean's chance of actually living life without the threats of the Mark of Cain.

The supercharged finale of "Supernatural" season 10 titled "My Brother's Keeper" will air on May 20.
