It seems like Sam (Jared Padalecki) will once again take himself into deep trouble.

In season 11's midseason finale, titled "O Brother Where Art Thou?" the younger Winchester sibling receives an instruction from God to go to hell to confront Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) in order to defeat this season's biggest villain.

According to the synopsis for the upcoming episode, Sam will ask Crowley (Mark Sheppard) to help him deal with the fallen angel inside a cage. But things seem to be turning for the worse before they could finally defeat the Darkness since Sam is known to have an ugly past with Lucifer.

In an interview with TV Line, Padalecki teased that the upcoming "Supernatural" season 11 midseason finale and the one before that became his most memorable episodes in the series so far.

"I love the twists and turns - none of which I can probably say without getting out of here alive. The brothers are very committed to fighting alongside each other," Padalecki said.

The actor also teased that he never expected to see his character and Jensen Ackles' Dean to be heading toward the place where they are going in the midseason finale.

"But we get right to it," Padalecki explained. "And the brothers are very committed to fighting alongside each other, to getting rid of The Darkness and trying to figure out what it's going to take and how to do it, going through all alleys and channels."

Meanwhile, expect to see a braver, stronger version of the Darkness as she finally matures into an adult Amara in the upcoming episode of "Supernatural" season 11.

In the midseason finale, Amara (Emily Swallow) will be fully grown, and she will unleash her full powers on the local townspeople. Can Sam and Dean still defeat her now that they are almost the same age?
