'Supernatural' season 11 plot spoilers: Winchesters, Castiel to make a bloody return in new episodes
The Winchester brothers appear to be facing more danger in the upcoming season 11 of "Supernatural," based on the first photos released by The CW network.
TV Line first posted the newest set of photographs for the upcoming season of the long-running fantasy-horror drama. They show that the Winchester brothers will have a bloody encounter with a still unknown enemy. However, it seems like Sam (Jared Padalecki) will have more damages compared to his older brother Dean (Jensen Ackles).
But aside from Sam and Dean, their friend Castiel (Misha Collins) is also bloodied and bruised while holding a sharp knife on his hand. He is obviously doing his best to get out of the strong spell that was cast by the wicked witch Rowena (Ruth Connell) last season.
"Castiel, first and foremost, has to find a way out of this spell that Rowena has cast on him," executive producer Jeremy Carver shared with TVLine. "That's not as easy as it may sound. Being under the influence of this spell, it's going to lead him to some pretty uncomfortable situations."
Meanwhile, Crowley, the King of Hell (Mark A. Sheppard), is also seen in the latest set of images. Compared to the other guys, Crowley seems to be unhurt as he speaks in front of two unknown men.
In other news, "Supernatural" season 11 will feature the arrival of the Darkness, the most ruthless enemy that the Winchester brothers have to face. This season's villain will allegedly come in the form of a woman.
Actor Jensen Ackles recently shared a teaser with the Entertainment Weekly, saying: "As of right now we have it built as one specific entity, obviously that would be a character that we're introducing. But whatever the reach of that character, what that character can do, we're not quite sure of. We don't know the scope of her powers. [She's] not really a monster. It's more of a primal force that we know nothing about. There's no lore; there's no guidebook; there's no instruction manual on how to deal with this."
"Supernatural" season 11 will premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 7, on The CW.
