Dangerous things are afoot for Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) in the new time-bending trailer of "Supernatural" season 12.

The clip teases a bunch of exciting developments that set to happen in the new season. One of which is Dean being captured by the British Men of Letters as he searched for his brother.

It is unclear as to how he was seized, but it appears that the group, represented in "Supernatural" season 12 primarily by Lady Toni Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore), is stronger than how the Winchester brothers expected them to be.

The good news is that Dean and Sam will get some help. Castiel (Misha Collins) will assist the former in finding the latter. The brothers' newly resurrected mother, Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith), will also join the search.

Like Sam and Dean, Mary was a hunter, and it looks like death in no way swept away her skills. The Winchester matriarch displayed her assassination skills in the "Supernatural" season 12 trailer.

There was a moment in the clip where she and Cas run into each other in a bunker. It was a tense meeting as Mary pointed a gun at the angel.

In the end, however, Castiel will learn who she is, and they will all team up for the crusade to find Sam. After that, he will focus on finding Lucifer (Rick Springfield).

The "Supernatural" season 12 trailer teased that the baddie is hanging out with Crowley (Mark Sheppard), although it is unclear what that is all about.

The King of Hell was also seen with Rowena (Ruth Connell), pouring his mother a glass of wine, and the two shared look that suggested of something sinister.

Among all that, the "Supernatural" season 12 preview also showed Adolf Hitler, whose story arc paved the way for Adam Rose to reprise his role as Aaron Bass in the series.

"Supernatural" season 12 will have "family" as its underlying theme. This does not apply only to Dean and Sam with Mary's return but also to the rest of the characters.

"Supernatural" season 12 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
