'Supernatural' season 10 renewed by CW: Jared Padalecki says he was 'shocked' at season 9 finale

The TV series "Supernatural" is closing its ninth season and actor Jared Padalecki said that he was shocked while reading the script.

According to TV Fanatic, star Jared Padalecki gushed over the upcoming season finale of the hit TV series "Supernatural" and said that he was "shocked and excited" for the final episode. The report added that viewers will laugh, cry and will wonder the effects of the events on the next season.

This is seconded by Misha Collins who played the character of Castiel. He did his best to give a vague teaser to loyal fans which hinted that there could be major turns in the upcoming season.

"The cliffhanger at the end of season 9 is great and it really sets up some rich stuff [for next season]," he said.

According to the official synopsis of the season 9 finale entitled "Do You Believe in Miracles?", Dean (Jensen Ackles) feels the effects of the First Blade, and Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong) makes his move against humanity. Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean and Castiel (Misha Collins) face shocking consequences when taking the fight to Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong). Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver.

In the promo videos of the Season 9 finale episode, Dean is out of control because of the Mark of Cain. Speculations suggest that Cain will return to help Dean in controlling the Mark or taking it back. In the first promo video, Dean Winchester showed his expression with a burning desire to kill. "Drop the blade Dean!" Sam yelled at his brother in an attempt to calm him down and stop his killing spree. Then, Crowley (Mark Sheppard) appeared and explained to Dean what the Mark of Cain does to him. "The more you kill, the better you feel. The less you kill, the less better you feel," Crowley stated.

The specifics of the show's tenth season were still undisclosed and will probably this way for quite some time since the writer will take some time off and will put their pens down for several weeks. The "Supernatural" team will get a break and will be back along with the actors and start some of their work in the story. However, based on the still and clips, fans can look forward to the next season.
