Windows fans are hyped up since it is speculated that the Surface Book 2 will arrive this month. It is also rumored to be sporting the brand new Intel Kaby Lake processor.

Several reports stated that the upcoming convertible laptop would have a 4K display, USB 3.1 ports, and a Thunderbolt 3 port. The new processor, aside from an overall improved performance over its predecessor, the Skylake, natively supports all these features. A powerful GPU could also be incorporated into the device, which will also make it ready for virtual reality (VR).

Back in August, the tech community was shaken when an Instagram post from the official Surface account put up an alleged teaser for its upcoming hybrid laptop. The image contained a dark colored device, other than the silver/magnesium color, which was initially thought to be a new color scheme available. Rudy Huyn demystified this by saying that the image is a cropped photo of the original Surface Book.

Microsoft is said to be offering a redesigned hinge that could replace the fulcrum design of the current model. Users are said to be complaining about the process of detaching the tablet from its keyboard dock which requires another step instead of just pulling out the screen section.

However, there are also rumors suggesting that there will be no Surface Book 2 that would be unveiled this time, but the Surface all-in-one PC are rumored to take the center stage. The alleged AIO desktop machine will be offered in three screen size options — a 21-, 24-, and a 27-inch device, ZDNet reported.

The report mentioned that the new device is internally known as "Cardinal," and it is rumored to be part of the consumer products of Surface Hub. The idea of the AIO originated back in 2005, which was called PixelSense table-PC.

There are also rumors that the Surface Book 2 will be launched next year. However, Microsoft remains tight-lipped when it comes to its upcoming devices, so there is no confirmation about the rumors as of writing.
