It is a real struggle to bring to light luscious details regarding "Switched at Birth" season 5 but thankfully, Lizzy Weiss, creator of the teen-family drama, still makes sure fans are up to speed when it comes to the production of the upcoming season.
On Twitter, Weiss shared a photo of the first page of the script for the second episode of the much-awaited new season. It was revealed that the follow-up to the season 4 premiere titled "The Call" will be called "This Has to Do with Me."
Not much was revealed about this "Switched at Birth" season 5 episode except for the fact that it is already "baked and cooling" and that William Brown and Liz Sczudlo wrote it. It was also confirmed D.W. Moffett, who stars on the show as John Kennish, will direct the episode.
Meanwhile, the first table read of the season was recently held. Ryan Lane, who plays the role of Travis in the series, shared a photo of the affair on Instagram, confirming in the caption that filming will commence "next week."
"Switched at Birth" season 5 is expected to be an explosive season. When season 4 ended, Bay, who now lives in China with Daphne, received a phone call from a yet-to-be-indentified person who seems to be, in no way, a bearer of good news.
Speculations have it that the mystery caller, whoever he or she is, told Bay about John and Kathryn possibly going through a divorce. Despite having been able to establish a stable life a thousand miles apart from their loved ones, Bay and Daphne may end up flying back to Kansas to help out.
Meanwhile, there are also rumors that "Switched at Birth" season 5 will mark John's demise, which is one way to bring the sisters back home. The Kennish patriarch is suffering a heart condition. With a big issue such as the divorce as well as his family's growing financial woes pressing on, things can just go downhill from there.
"Switched at Birth" season 5 is expected to premiere April this year.
