In two weeks, "Switched at Birth" will be coming back for its fourth season, and fans will get to see how Bay (Vanessa Marano) copes after Emmett (Sean Berdy) broke up with her when she surprised him by coming to California.

Many fans hope that Bay can move on and find a way to be happy since she has certainly done a lot to save the relationship. However, TVGuide reports that in the midseason premiere of the ABC Family drama, viewers will find that Bay is barely able to function as she tries to come to terms with the fact that things are really over between her and Emmett. In an attempt to distract Bay, Kathryn (Lea Thompson) tries to coax her daughter out of the house, encouraging her to get a job or reapply in art school.

Later during the episode, it looks like Bay and Travis commiserate over their lost loves.

Show creator Lizzy Weiss took to Twitter on Monday, Aug. 10, to share a clip from the season premiere, which features Bay and Travis in a bar. In the clip, Bay tells Travis — whose arm is in a sling from the car accident — that she's glad that he and Natalie are both ok, and Travis signs that he wants her to know that he told Emmett that he was foolish to break up with her. Travis also says that although they've broken up, he wants to stay friends with both of them.

By the second episode of the season, Bay will find herself under scrutiny when she returns to school. As she tries to focus all her energy on her schoolwork, she'll discover that the new harassment policy has put her in the spotlight. Meanwhile, John will find himself under financial strain when Kathryn decides that she wants to produce her musical herself.

"Switched at Birth" season 4 premieres on Monday, Aug. 24, at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
