'Switched at Birth' season 5 spoilers: emergency call details expected to be revealed

Switched at BirthABC

The production for the fifth season of "Switched at Birth" is currently underway, but the cast and the series creator are generous enough to provide several pieces of information about what fans should look forward to in the upcoming season.

Series creator Lizzy Weiss told TVLine last year that season 5 will feature a 10-month time jump after the events that happened at the end of season 4. The next season of the family drama series will finally provide all the answers regarding the fates of Daphne (Katie Leclerc), Bay (Vanessa Marano), and the people around them

At the end of season 4, both Daphne and Bay decided to move to China to start their lives anew. But they received an emergency call from home that required them to go back to the U.S.

It seems like the incident will be the focus of the premiere episode of season 5, which is titled as "The Call." Fans are expecting to finally find out what the call is all about, and who made that call. Does it have something to do with their families or one of their common friends?

Aside from the premiere episode that was written by Weiss and directed by Allan Arkush, the titles of the next three episodes have also been revealed. Episode 2 is titled "This Has to Do with Me," penned by William H. Brown and Liz Sczudlo and helmed by D. W. Moffett. Episode 3 is titled "Surprise," written by Terrence Coli and Colin Waite and directed by Stephen Tolkin. Episode 4 is titled "Relation of Lines and Colors" and it was written by Linda Gase and J. R. Phillips under the direction of Carlos Gonzalez.

At the moment, the official release date for "Switched at Birth" season 5 is still under wraps, but Freeform is expected to unveil the schedule in the coming days.
