'Sword Art Online' season 3 release date news, spoilers: Next season to follow 'Alicization Arc'
The live-action movie for the Japanese anime "Sword Art Online" has already been released, which has brought joy and contentment from the shows' fans. However, it has left fans wondering about the fate of the upcoming third season of the anime. Fortunately, it has already been announced that the light novel, which is the "Alicization Arc," will be tackled next in the Japanese anime hit show.
In a report by Destructoid, the information was announced in the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival, which took place on Sunday. They further stated that the movie shed some teaser news regarding the show's return, but it still left fans in the dark regarding the show's return. For the "Alicization Arc," the show's characters, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu and Tomatsu Haruka, who voice Kirito and Asuna's respectively, will be reprised for the Japanese version of the anime.
Shimazaki Nobunaga, from the highly-acclaimed anime movie "Your Name," will voice Eugeo, who is one of the main characters for next season's arc.
Alice, who will be the main focus of the next season, will be voiced by Ai Kayano, who has done some previous voice acting for anime shows "Tokyo Mirage" as well as "Darkness." In a report by Otaku Mode, the news also came with a brief but "striking" trailer, whose visuals was done by Abec. Abec is the organization that is responsible for illustrating the original series.
Crunchy Roll has noted that it has been five full years since "Sword Art Online" has provided its die-hard and loyal fans with a new season, which makes the news of the "Alicization Arc" more important. This is not obviously the case for those who have read the light novel, since they more or less have an idea about the upcoming anime show's plot. This is covered in nine to 18 volumes of creator Reki Kawahara's works.
The story picks up on June 26, after Kirito had just been offered a job in a company that calls itself Rath. He is to work in the company's private firm to test out new gaming equipment, with a few twists and a catch, since the job is not as much of a dream come true for Kirito as it had initially seemed.
There is currently no confirmed date for the third season.
