Earlier this month, publisher Bandai Namco officially announced the arrival of the role-playing title "Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization" which is exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The trailer showcases what players can expect from the game as well as its protagonists.

According to Bandai Namco's website, the new game will somewhat take place inside another game dubbed as "Sword Art: Origins" where players will be coming across numerous characters who post as players in the "Origins" game. Tagged as so-called non-player characters (NPCs), actual players will have to utilize these NPCs, communicate with them, form allies, and even ask them to join in combat. Moreover, the description of the title also suggests that gamers can have romantic encounters with other NPCs.

Meanwhile, the game's Season Pass is expected to include a side quest known as the "Abyss of the Shrine Maiden." Also, additional skins for lady characters will be included in the said add-on including swimwear with different themes and a bridal gown.

A collector's edition of the game was also rolled out and dons a $150 price tag. It includes action figures of both Kirito and Asuna, the game's soundtrack, posters, and an art book apart from the game itself.

According to Bandai Namco America's director of marketing Dennis Lee, the "Sword Art Online" franchise has experienced a rise in popularity with Western gamers and they are delighted with the new release as it will provide players with another immersive adventure that they can delve into.

At this time, no announcements have been if there will be upcoming downloadable content for the new title. That being said, fans might want to check Bandai Namco's website for the latest news about "Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization."
