Although it is already past HTC's self-imposed 90-day deadline in delivering the latest software update, the company is undoubtedly doing its best to deliver Android Lollipop to its subscribers as soon as possible. Last Feb. 9, T-Mobile started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update to its subscribers who own HTC One (M8) handsets. HTC's vice president of product management Mo Versi made the announcement on his Twitter account.

The update will be received over-the-air. Users will receive notifications that they need to tap and download. They can also head to Settings > General > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates to install the new software. Still, it will be delivered in stages, which means that some users may receive the notification earlier than others.

The HTC One (M8) is still considered as one of the top smartphones in the market, having received high claims and praises from critics and tech reviewers. The Android 5.0 OS update has been rolled out to the unlocked model and Google Play Edition of the handset. The carrier versions in Europe and Canada also got the firmware upgrade.

HTC also started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update to the One (M7).

"HTC One (M7) Unlocked and Dev owners! Enjoy the Lollipop update! OTA has been released. #HTCAdvantage," Versi's Twitter post reads.

The latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update brings forth major changes to the smartphones since it is one of the biggest Android updates. It delivers an overall new user interface dubbed as Material Design. Moreover, improvements will be seen in the performance, notifications, and security of the handset once it is installed.
