T-Mobile was ahead of other carriers in updating the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Now, the self-titled uncarrier is reportedly pioneering the rollout of the latest Lollipop build to Samsung's 2014 flagship, the Galaxy S5. T-Mobile, however, has yet to make this official, which means that subscribers will have to wait to find out what the update packs for the 5.1-inch smartphone. 

However, taking into account the features the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge received with the Android 5.1 Lollipop update, there is hope that the RAW photography support for the camera will make it to their predecessor as well. 

Apart from this wished-for feature, it is expected that the Lollipop treatment will bring along improvements on the handset, which are never absent in the Google-developed firmware. But until the Magenta carrier releases an official changelog, one could only speculate.

If T-Mobile will take a cue from the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, its customers who own the Galaxy S5 will get to see and utilize the Guest mode, which gets the big chunk of the update, as well as small tweaks on the user interface. 

Those who want to upgrade their T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop can check its availability by heading to Settings - About device - Software updates - Check Now, or they can head to Samsung Kies if the new Lollipop is now ready for download.

Days ago, international variants of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge in France also received Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. However, the update was not able to eliminate the hounding issue on RAM utilization that's unique to the Galaxy S6.
