Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to get Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update on ahead of Note 4, Note Edge on T-Mobile

T-Mobile subscribers using Samsung Galaxy Note 3 handsets will be delighted to know that the phablet will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update ahead of the current Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge units.

According to the T-Mobile's Update page, the Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2013), HTC One, HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy S5 are some of the devices under T-Mobile's wings that will receive the OS update soon.

The webpage also revealed the process of the rollout of the new operating system involving a three-step procedure. The first step depends on the manufacturer development after the carrier and OEM agree that a particular device will support the new Android 5.0. The second step is for T-Mobile to test the device and OS before the last step or the rollout.

Users confirmed that the Nexus line, the HTC One M8, and the Samsung Galaxy S5 were already updated. Those that are not mentioned will receive the update soon. According to the International Business Times, the first generation of HTC One and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 devices are scheduled to receive the OS update in no time. The report added that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is currently in stage two or in the testing stage under the carrier, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge are in step one, which means that the current Galaxy Note models will receive the update later although a specific release date has not been announced yet.

The South Korean company is definitely working on the update for the Galaxy Note 4 as the operating system was already spotted in Poland where the company conducts research and development for its devices.

Just like in the previous updates, the Android 5.0 will be rolled out in phases and not all at once; and following the pattern of Samsung OS updates, the latest Android will most likely creep its way into Europe and Asia before it will be released in the U.S.
