Apple may have successfully shut down the Pangu jailbreak with iOS 8.1.1 but they will have to deal with another one again. As the iOS 8.2 is still far off the horizon, TaiG, the makers of the third-party Chinese app store known as "evad3rs," released an untethered jailbreak called the TaiG v1.01. Tech outlets report that the hottest jailbreak in town is compatible with devices that run iOS 8.0, iOS 8.1 and iOS 8.1.1 such as every iPhone handset and iPad tablet as well as the iPod Touch 5G.

For those who choose to try the TaiG jailbreak, iDownload Blog cautions them to backup their handsets in case something goes awry. It also reminds everyone to "fresh restore/install (of) the latest compatible firmware" prior to the jailbreak process to make the process push through as smoothly as possible.

For the jailbreak to work, users will have to disable the Find my iPhone feature (go to Settings> iCloud> Find My iPhone) as well as Touch ID and Passcode (go to Settings> Touch ID & Passcode for both). IB Times adds that there should always be a stable Internet connection the iOS device can access and, lastly, iTunes should be installed on the PC.

The download for the TaiG jailbreak is for Windows only. IDownload Blog says that the jailbreak looks great on devices running iOS 8.1.1, "while some users are running into issues with beta 2." Media outlets say it is best to stay away from installing it this early all because of safety and reliability issues. But for those who understand the unknown hazard it may bring, they can get it here.

IDigital Times advises that once the device is plugged into the computer and prompted with the download, users can install Cydia in the process. There is also an option to install the TaiG app store, but it's best to leave it unchecked.
