In the recent months, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry seem to have reached a temporary truce in their headline-making feud. But with the release of Swift's new music video for "Bad Blood," it appears as though their rivalry might be heating up again as many are speculating that the video is about Perry. 

In describing the motivation for the song in an interview with Rolling Stone, Swift confessed that "Bad Blood" was inspired by a female musical artist who had "basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour." 

"For years, I was never really sure if we were friends or not," Swift said. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'" 

"She did something so horrible," Swift continued. "I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontationa l— you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it." 

After the interview was released, Perry posted a cryptic tweet which read, "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing." 

Since then, all has been silent between both singers' camps, until the release of the "Bad Blood" video. The music video shows Swift and a few of her real-life celebrity friends teaming up to go to war against the enemy, which fans interpret as Perry.

The video opens with Swift as Catastrophe, engaging in hand-to-hand combat with some opponents, aided by Selena Gomez as Arsyn. The two appear to be gaining the upper hand in the battle, until Arsyn snatches Catastrophe's briefcase, and kicks her out of the glass window. 

Prior to the video's worldwide debut, a source told Hollywood Life that Perry will be watching and is prepared to retaliate should there be "any diss that might take place." 

"Both Katy and John [Mayer] are ready to watch it and they are ready to be unimpressed," said the source. "They are not scared of any diss that might take place, but Katy is secure in the fact that if a major diss happens, she will gladly have a rebuttal in either a future video, song, or performance."
