'Team Fortress 2' new beta game mode PASS Time available

A new addition is coming to "Team Fortress 2" in the form of a beta game mode known as PASS Time.

According to the official "Team Fortress" web site, PASS Time "combines TF2's usual fast-paced bloodsport with the actual fast-paced sports of soccer, hockey, and basketball."

Basically, PASS Time aims to combine aspects of the gunplay inside "Team Fortress 2" along with the play styles of sports.

In PASS Time, players will now be able to see a ball appear on the field; although in this case, it will be known as a Jack, according to Polygon. The map for this particular mode will also be altered so that two goals will now be present. With that as the starting point, players will now compete against each other to gain possession of the Jack. Once they do, it will take the place of their weapon. Although it will also make them invulnerable very briefly, it will provide them with a speed boost and even enhance their regeneration. Players will also be able to see everyone on the map, regardless of whether they are their teammates or opponents, as long as they have the Jack.

Obviously, the point of PASS Time is to put the Jack through the correct goal on the field. Once a player on one team takes possession of the Jack, members of the opposing team can still perform melee attacks on the carrier in an attempt to retake possession and score themselves.

PASS Time has also been a new addition that is coming with a considerable amount of hype, especially since it was the creation of Bad Robot Studios, the very same studio owned by director J.J. Abrams. It was also co-developed by Escalation Studios, according to Gamespot.

Players can now try out PASS Time by simply selecting it from the different beta maps offered in "Team Fortress 2."
