Samsung has updated its Galaxy S7 lineup with a Pink Gold color option.

In the announcement posted on the Samsung Newsroom, the South Korea-based tech giant said that the color addition "Pink Gold was chosen as it, like the other colors available for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, is a natural color that provides a sense of comfort. These hues glitter and shimmer as if illuminated from inside their glass surfaces."

"In particular, the refined Pink Gold color scheme is intended to soothe and incorporate a touch of gentleness, radiance and sophistication to the smartphones' design," the press statement added.

The new Pink Gold color option debuted in South Korea on April 20, and will be available in select regions soon. The new color addition joins the already-established options for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, White Pearl and Silver Titanium.

According to CNET, the new color option may be Samsung's answer to the Rose Gold craze that has boomed in the Asian markets with Apple's introduction of the Rose Gold color. The hue has been a signature iPhone color for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus introduced late last year.

Meanwhile, color options aside, the Galaxy S7 lineup continue to enjoy its recent success as Samsung's new flagship lineup. Both the base model Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge variant carry on having positive feedback, with Geekwire saying that the Edge feature integrated in the AMOLED display is a great help particularly if the device is screen-side down, since the notifications can still be seen from the sides.

Additionally, one of the most noted features for the new Galaxy S7 lineup is its camera setup. Indeed, some of the reviews for recent flagship releases like the HTC 10 and the Huawei P9, boasting of their better cameras, use the Galaxy S7 assembly as a baseline.
