Ted Cruz 'possessed by a demon': 2 men try to exorcise GOP bet at New Hampshire campaign event
Believing that Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is "possessed by a demon," two men carrying mirrors and a wooden cross tried to perform an exorcism on him during his campaign event in Raymond, New Hampshire.
The Dallas Morning News reported that Cruz had just finished his speech when the two men began to interrupt everybody's attention by shouting at the candidate.
"Ted Cruz look in the mirror and let the evil spirit depart!" one of the two men exclaimed. "He's possessed by a demon!"
The crowd booed in support of Cruz, and the presidential hopeful even suggested that the "very confused fellow" was part of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders' campaign.
But the man refused to quit. "He's possessed by a demon!" he continued shouting. "The demon has to leave. That's why the body is so disgusting to look at!"
A second man then held up a mirror and told Cruz to look at himself so "the evil can confront itself."
"Evil body! Evil spirit. Look yourself in the mirror!" he yelled.
It did not take long for police officers to remove the two men out of the building, and Cruz tried to lighten the atmosphere by saying their proclamations were an "odd thing."
"Usually lefties don't believe in God," he mulled.
The two men refused to give out their names, but when pressed by reporters, they insisted that they were only acting out of concern for the Texas senator.
"We just had to get rid of the evil spirit. I hope it works," one of them said. "He's very hard to be in the same room with. We had to exorcise some sort of disgusting evil spirit. There's a reason that the body is so haggard and disgusting, and the face, and it's all so weathered and gross and hard to look at."
"And it's because he's possessed by a demon. Being in the room with evil so close, it's just hard to even comprehend. The evil is so deep rooted and maybe if it had to confront itself," he added.
