'Teen Mom' star Maci Bookout pregnant with 3rd child

2016 is shaping up to be a good year for Maci Bookout. The "Teen Mom OG" star recently announced her engagement to Taylor McKinney, and on Valentine's Day, the reality star took to her Instagram page to announce that she and Taylor are expecting their second child.

The reality star posted a picture of her cradling her tummy while kissing her fiancé on the cheek on Sunday, Feb. 14, and captioned it, "#Makingmoremoneys baby boy coming soon!"

The 24-year-old spoke with MTV News about her pregnancy and her reaction when she learned that she was going to be a mother of three.

"I found out I was pregnant with baby number three right after we got engaged," Maci said. "It was not expected or a planned pregnancy."

Maci announced their engagement on Instagram on January 19. In the shot, the reality star is seen kissing Taylor on the beach, and Maci is wearing a diamond ring on her finger. The pair has been together for three years and they are parents to a seven-month old daughter, Jayde Carter. Maci has a seven-year-old-son, Bentley, with her ex, Ryan Edwards. Ryan proposed to her back in 2009 as seen in MTV's "16 and Pregnant" but the two called things off.

On her third pregnancy, Maci said, "Because it's the third one, you know what's going on. You've been there, done that a couple times now, so it's sort of laid back."

The baby is said to be due at the end of May, and it's possible that the child will even share a birthday with Jayde, who was born on May 29.

Dr. Nina L. Shapiro, Director of Pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat at the Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, told Us Weekly that there are benefits to having babies born within a few months of each other, also known as baby bunching.

The doctor said that parents are already in "baby mode" so there's less adjustment when it comes to diapering, feeding styles and nap patterns.

"Bunched babies may be close emotionally, as the older one doesn't truly remember being the only child," said Dr. Shapiro.
